Main Journey in the My Khe Beach with a baby
Exploring My Khe Beach
After a much-needed rest, we were ready to head out for a relaxed stroll along Da Nang’s My Khe Beach. Sweetie, dressed in her adorable little summer dress, was ecstatic—and Julie looked equally radiant in hers!
The beach was a perfect spot for Sweetie to stretch her legs and enjoy the wide-open space. As expected, she had her funny moment where she suddenly froze mid-run with an unexplainable expression on her face. This, of course, had Julie and me chuckling. Moments later, she decided it was time to be carried—a reminder that even short walks warrant bringing along the baby carrier.

A Quick Bite: Bánh Mì vs. Phở
Our little adventure worked up an appetite, so we stopped for a bánh mì sandwich to keep things simple. Compared to the phở we’d been having, this felt like a refreshing change—crispy bread, fresh vegetables, and flavorful fillings. It might just be our favorite local snack now!
Discovering My Khe Beach’s Charm
The beach itself was serene, though not quite the turquoise oasis we’d imagined. We learned that its famously vibrant colors show up only during midday in summer. Still, it was lovely to watch Sweetie take it all in, pointing to the distant parasailing boats and asking, “What’s that?”
Her curiosity reminded us of last year in Pattaya, where she watched Julie and me parasail. It seems those memories are fading for her, but it’s wonderful to see her rediscovering the world through new experiences.
Evening at the Kids Club
After a simple dinner of phở, we returned to the hotel and spent some time in the kids’ club. While the space wasn’t anything extraordinary, Sweetie was thrilled. Watching her figure out the purpose of every toy and gadget there was such a joy—her curiosity and focus made even the simplest toys seem magical.
Eventually, she cuddled up with Strawberry Sister and drifted off to sleep. Outside, the vibrant city lights of Da Nang sparkled, giving us a moment to reflect on the day while planning for tomorrow.

Even for short walks, toddlers can tire quickly. A baby carrier can save you from juggling tired little ones and heavy bags.
2. Snack Smart
Local snacks like bánh mì are not only delicious but also convenient and satisfying for a quick energy boost.
3. Keep It Simple at the Kids Club
Even the most basic play areas can captivate young children. Sometimes, the novelty of new toys and spaces is enough to make their day.

Local Travel Tips
1. Best Time for My Khe Beach Colors
Visit during midday in summer to see the water’s famous turquoise hues. For a cooler, family-friendly stroll, mornings or late afternoons are ideal.
2. Explore Local Food
While phở is a must-try, don’t miss out on bánh mì. It’s affordable, portable, and a delightful taste of Vietnam.
3. Discover Hidden Gems
Many hotels offer kids’ clubs or small play areas. Even if they seem modest, they can be a great way to wind down after a day of exploring.
