Main Journey of Pediatric Visit in Delhi with Baby
Traveling the world with a 28-month-old baby is an incredible adventure but not without its challenges. In Delhi, Sweetie suddenly became unwell with a high fever, vomiting, and diarrhea over two days. It was a distressing time for Julie and me, but we were determined to ensure she received the best care possible.
Thankfully, before beginning our journey, we had secured a year-long travel insurance plan with Assist Card. A quick call connected us with a helpful Korean-speaking representative who directed us to a hospital that offered direct billing. However, the hospital was an hour away, adding logistical challenges to an already overwhelming day.
To complicate matters, our passports were with the Namibian embassy for visa processing. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to proceed with Sweetie’s hospital registration. After retrieving the visas, we hurriedly made our way to the hospital, where Sweetie finally received the care she needed.
Events
1. Assist Card Assistance
Assist Card’s direct billing service was invaluable, allowing us to focus on Sweetie’s health without worrying about immediate payments. The staff helped us find a reputable hospital in Delhi, though the distance presented its own set of challenges.
2. Namibia Visa Success
After weeks of planning, we received confirmation that our Namibia visas were ready. This was a small victory amidst a chaotic day, marking a significant milestone for our upcoming travels.
3. Sweetie’s Hospital Visit
Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals provided a reassuringly professional environment. Sweetie’s pediatrician prescribed probiotics, zinc, and electrolytes, ensuring her recovery without requiring antibiotics. Although not all medications were available at the hospital pharmacy, we adapted with what we had brought from Korea.
