Main Journey
We officially hit day 100 of our world travel with Sweetie, and after months of moving through Africa, we felt it was time for a real vacation. Even a world journey needs a break.
Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt turned out to be the perfect destination. Unlike the laid-back beach town of Dahab, Sharm El Sheikh is filled with high-end resorts, many of them offering all-inclusive packages at incredibly low prices. If you book early, you can enjoy a full all-inclusive resort stay for around 35,000 KRW per night.
To celebrate both our 100-day milestone and the end of our Africa leg, we booked a few days at an all-inclusive resort. We chose it purely for fun—one that had water slides and family facilities.
The hotel we stayed at was KIROSEIZ Premier. While it wasn’t directly on the beach, we found out later that the KIROSEIZ group actually owns several private beaches around the area. One of them, Coral Beach, had the most frequent shuttle service, so we decided to go there first.
When we arrived at Coral Beach, the sea was as clear and inviting as we’d hoped. You could see the color of the water change in layers, and the warm temperature meant Sweetie could play all day in the water without getting cold. This alone made July the perfect time to visit.
True to its name, Coral Beach had coral stones scattered along the shore. Walking directly on the coral was prohibited for preservation reasons, but a long deck led out into the sea. From there, we could see vibrant fish and coral through the incredibly clear water.
We didn’t bring any snorkeling gear, which we really regretted. The sea was deeper than expected past the coral reef, and the waves were a bit strong, so without life jackets, we decided to stay on the beach and just enjoy time with Sweetie in the sand.
On the ride back to the hotel, Sweetie was full of energy again, playing peekaboo with a girl sitting in front of us on the shuttle. By the time we arrived back, it was lunchtime.
The buffet setup worked out great for our family. Even if Sweetie wasn’t into one dish, we had plenty of other options to choose from. After lunch and a solid recharge, we spent the afternoon enjoying the hotel pools.
There were three pool zones in the hotel:
- One adult pool
- One baby and toddler pool with a slide and playground
- Another adult pool with full-sized water slides
Since the kids’ water slides were closed during lunch, we started with the adult pool. Surprisingly, Sweetie preferred splashing around in the deeper water. After the slides reopened, we tried the baby pool again, but Sweetie didn’t like the octopus slide because of the water spraying from the top. She only warmed up to it once we got in and played with her.
Julie and I took turns riding the three big slides in the adult area. There weren’t many people, so we could go up and slide down without any wait. It felt like a mini water park just for us.

Events
Celebrating 100 Days of Travel
This stay marked a big milestone: 100 days since the start of our world travel journey. It was also the end of our Africa itinerary, which included:
- Mauritius
- Madagascar
- South Africa
- Namibia
- Zambia
- Kenya
- Egypt
- Jordan (technically Middle East, but we included it)
After so many intense and moving experiences, it was time to take a few days to rest and reflect before moving into our next chapter—Europe.
Coral Beach Exploration
We spent a calm day at Coral Beach:
- Shuttle service from hotel
- Warm, clear Red Sea waters
- Coral reefs visible from the deck
- No snorkeling gear = relaxing beach time with Sweetie
- Light waves made swimming without flotation gear difficult
Poolside Fun
Sweetie loved the adult pool more than the baby pool, which was unexpected. Once the slides opened, we explored all three pool zones:
- Splashing in deeper water
- Climbing slides together
- Taking turns on adult water slides
We followed the same pattern the next day—swimming, relaxing, buffet meals, and taking it slow. For the first time, we skipped posting on day 110. That alone shows how much we needed this break.

Tips for Traveling with a Baby
Choose All-Inclusive Resorts for Simplicity
All-inclusive made everything easier with a toddler. We didn’t have to worry about food, and if Sweetie didn’t like one dish, we could just try another. Unlimited drinks and snacks also made it feel like a real holiday for us parents.
Visit in the Warm Months for Water Comfort
Traveling in July meant the sea temperature was perfect. Sweetie could stay in the water as long as she liked without getting cold. This was especially helpful for beach days.
Bring Simple Toys for Beach Play
We didn’t have our snorkeling gear, but a small shovel and bucket kept Sweetie busy and happy on the beach. Always pack basic toys—even without a big setup, playtime happens naturally.
Make Sure There Are Baby-Friendly Pools
Check that the hotel has shallow pools, baby slides, and shaded areas. Sweetie was more comfortable when we joined her, so shared family areas are a must.
Local Travel Tips
Book Early for Great Prices
We paid under 35,000 KRW per night for our all-inclusive stay. The earlier you book, the better the deals—some of the best prices are shockingly affordable compared to other resort destinations.
Don’t Expect a Culinary Adventure
While buffet options were plenty, Egyptian resort food didn’t stand out for us. It was perfectly fine for what we needed, but if you’re expecting gourmet dishes, adjust your expectations.
Bring Your Own Snorkeling Gear
Sharm El Sheikh is famous for snorkeling, and the coral reefs are beautiful, even visible from the surface. We regretted not bringing our gear from Korea. Rentals may be limited or costly.
Shuttle Access Is Important
If your hotel isn’t on the beach, make sure it offers a reliable shuttle service. Coral Beach had the most frequent buses, which made it the easiest and most convenient for families like us.
Travel Reflections
Reflection 1
Taking a break from nonstop travel reminded us that even on a long journey, we need moments to reset. This resort stay gave us that.
Reflection 2
We didn’t need much—just sun, water, a buffet, and time together. The simplicity of these days gave us some of our happiest family memories.
Reflection 3
Africa has been powerful, beautiful, and challenging. Closing this chapter in Sharm El Sheikh was the perfect way to say goodbye and recharge for Europe.
